“The Alliance is saddened to hear of Rod Diridon’s passing earlier this month. Diridon was a giant in Bay Area transit who, after decades of dedicated advocacy as a Santa Clara County supervisor, dedicated years of his life to mentoring students at the Mineta Transportation Institute. He spent his life fighting for transit and mobility, and I was honored to be able to meet him at an MTI program. While his legacy will live on at San Jose Diridon station, it’s up to us to ensure we continue fighting for sustaining and improving public transit in our communities, and for never being afraid to chase down big ideas and make people’s lives better.
