The CalHSTA Board
The board of the California High School Transit Alliance is responsible for setting the direction and mission of the organization, admitting clubs, and authorizing campaigns, actions, and releases.
The most recent meeting of the CalHSTA Board was on July 22nd, for a closed session at 5 PM PT and an open session at 5:30 PM PT. The open session was on Transit Clubs 101, a practical guide to starting and scaling a transit club. 2026-2027 Board
Enzo WuPresident
Enzo Wu is the cofounder and president of the Public Transit and Infrastructure club at Dougherty Valley High School, averaging 30+ members in attendance weekly. He has been a transit enthusiast for three years with a focus on advocating for youth transit awareness. He is also the BART speedrun world record holder and has documented his journeys in videos garnering thousands of views.

Ben MangiaficoSecretary
Ben Mangiafico is an avid public transit rider, cyclist, and alternative transportation advocate. He is the founder and president of the Carlmont High School transportation club in Belmont and a member of the SamTrans Citizens Advisory Committee. On the side, he enjoys playing jazz trumpet, technical theater, and going on long walks.
Board Member At-Large I
Mohan SharmaBoard Member At-Large II
Mohan is a transit rider and advocate for infrastructure-based transit solutions. He is the pending student leader of Green Transport Club at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, aimed to introduce enivronmentally-friendly transportation to the school community. He enjoys riding buses (first and foremost), but also mountain biking, skiing, and DJing.
Samuel SharpStaff Advisor
Samuel is a lifelong transit rider and a student at UC San Diego. While in high school, he served as the first president of CalHSTA, and was responsible for coordinating and promoting the Let's Go with PRONTO campaign that distributed transit fare cards to thousands of students. Samuel is also a co-founder of BuildSD and an officer of Public Transit Enthusiasts @ UC San Diego.
